There is a lot here that resonates. The desire for non-commodified community spaces is one that stands out. The very real exhaustion that comes from sustaining the supposed communities we have built on platforms that do not belong to us. I know I have felt the strain of these tensions especially over the last 18 months and expect it to continue and/or worsen. I appreciate your thoughts on the term "content creator" and the reduction it stands for.
Sometimes it's simply a relief to read a post where I can say, "I feel that." Thank you.
thank you for reading this and sharing your thoughts about it all--I really appreciate hearing this, very much. we put so much actual labor into these online spaces to connect to one another. and I will hold fast forever to the insistence that we are self-possessed artists, writers, poets, narrators, educators, and all the rest! it's so important. in the spirit of building our own spaces, I see you’ve migrated your blog to your website and I'm thinking of doing the same!
