I'm taking a break, friends! Subscriptions paused until January
I'll be reveling in the deep reflection of this season; of solsticetime, long nights, low skies, torrential rain, and the replenishing dark

Hello everyone, I hope you’re doing well and that your days are bringing you warmth, rejuvenation, community, and more!
I’ve paused paid subscriptions for now. My copy writing and editing work has picked up considerably as it tends to do in the fall and winter; and what’s even more exciting is that I’m preparing to teach an art appreciation course this coming winter quarter at South Seattle College.
I’m also taking this opportunity to fall back and regroup as I reconsider my overall thesis, which I’ve been holding close to my chest as I build up to it. I sort of realized it might be more interesting to work backwards, expose my conclusions, then go into everything leading up to it. Is that obvious? Yes, but I’m astonishingly slow sometimes. Is this cryptic as fuck? It absolutely is, lol. I guess what I’m learning is I still have a lot of extra material to shed so I can get further into the material I care most about. My best feature is also my worst, sometimes—I see a lot of patterns and connections across genres, topics, and issues; things stack up and even I get lost in it. So looking ahead at this extended length of quiet time, I don’t want to charge you for the remaining duration, however long it will be.
Keep fighting for a just world, towards liberation for us all. Hold fast in solidarity, reciprocity, kindness, and compassion. We’re working towards the same ends and goals, so let’s trust each other across our differences and embrace our multivalent ways of accomplishing them. Take down systems, not each other. Seek and create art and beauty and joy, no matter how small. Whatever it is that you are doing, everything you can do, with your strengths and skills, matters. Here’s to our collective fruitful days.
In the meantime, if you’d like to revisit some of my previous materials, here are a few essays I’m particularly proud of!
The Expanse Part 5: All slices of time being simultaneous
Hey all, it has been a while since I’ve released an essay and I’m excited to share this one with you, because I think I’ve finally reached a point where I’m able to tether all th…
On terror, and transformation
Beauty, awe, closeness, oneness, the disappearance of the self, the blending of time into a nonlinear expanse, the realization we know nothing which leads to both great wonderment, and great terror, amidst a cosmos in which we are just one part.
Future glimpses: Social dilemmas and the enclosure of media
So this audio is a bit of a ramble, I'd say very loosely based on the outline I have for a larger piece which has a place set aside in Beyond the Altar's schedule next year; and bringing this up was definitely brought about by recent events. I really never got fully to the reasoning behind my ideas on the "digital enclo…
Curiosity as a root to the way we move through the world
What is curiosity, what do we mean when we talk about the state of being curious?
Looking forward to what comes next
